- Hey! Im Ashley and I live in the Washington area. God has blessed me with three beautiful children. One of my children has a rare form of dwarfism. We are still waiting on a dignosis, which can take up to a year. So while i patiently wait ive been doing a TON of research on could it be this or oh what if she has that...I have this blog to have others find me and as well helping others who may be experiencing the same issue's or have already been there. Enjoy to read or even chat & of course enjoy our wonderful journey that God has planed for us :D

When it rains, It pours!
I have been having this god awful pain in my upper stomach after Riley was born. I thought it was heartburn at first, bc everytime after i ate the food at the hospital i would get really bad pain. At my two week post-partume apt the doctor told me i tore something and that it wasnt heartburn. If the pain came back to take the ibporfine. so i did as she said, but lastnight was horriable. I got stuck in one postion, i was short of breath, felt like someone punched me in my rib cage. worest feeling in the world. So my friend took me to the ER and the doctor there was an ass. He was telling me it was heartburn and was going to send me home on anti-acid medication. I told him i had a stonge feeling it wasnt heartburn and that he might wanna check into doing something else. So they took blood and did a ultrasound. after beeing there for 5 hours they told me i had gallbladder stones. ALOT of them. So next monday i see a galbladder doctor to see what needs to happend. My grandma had problems with her gall bladder and she told me to take milk thistle everyday. So im gonna try that and see how it goes. All i could think about was this is the last thing that needs to happend. With everything going on with riley. everything will work out it always does...
Miss Riley had her weekley Shriners apt today. She now wieghts 8lbs & 3oz!! She is such a lil ham! Her knees are looking awesome! They said with her condition babies take alot longer to heal and she is improving so much week by week the doctor is amazed! Next week though they will be doing surgery on her foot. What that means is Ligaments are tissues that help hold the bones together in the body. Tendons are tissues that help attach muscles to bones. A clubfoot occurs when tight tendons and ligaments prevent the foot from stretching into the right position.
To repair a clubfoot, one or two cuts are made in the skin, most often on the back of the foot and around the inside part of the foot.
Your child's surgeon may make the tendon around the foot longer or shorter. The Achilles tendon at the back of the foot is almost always cut.
Older children or more severe cases may need some bone cut. Sometimes, pins are placed in the foot.
A cast is placed on the foot after surgery to keep it in position while it heals. Sometimes a splint is put on first, and the cast is placed a few days later.
Older children who still have a foot deformity after surgery may need more surgery. Also, children who have not had surgery yet may need surgery as they grow. Types of surgery they may need include:
She will be awake through the whole thing. They said they will rub this pain cream on the area and it takes about a hour or two to kick in and then they cut and she will be done. He said it is so small she wont even need stiches.
Besides that everyone is doing good. Grandma came out from wyoming to meet her brand new great grandchild lastweek, but had to leave early bc we got her sick :( Maddie came home with a head cold then riley caught them I then my grandma! I think my poor grandma got it worest then all of us though :( But we are all better. Rileys is starting to go away! :)
Love ya xoxo
